What’s being said about mosquitoes?
“We are seeing near-record epidemic levels in more than a dozen states associated with recent outbreaks of West Nile Virus, due to ‘infected’ mosquitoes each year.” – FoxNews.com
“It is not clear why we are seeing more activity than in recent years,” said Marc Fischer, M.D., M.P.H., medical epidemiologist with CDC’s Arboviral Disease Branch in a CDC release. “Regardless of the reasons for the increase, people should be aware of the West Nile Virus activity in their area and take action to protect themselves and their families.” – EverydayHealth.com
What types of people are most susceptible to mosquitos?
Elderly people and children are more prone to mosquito related diseases.
How long do mosquitoes live?
Lifespans vary by species. Most adult female mosquitoes live 2-3 weeks. Some species that live over-winter in garages, culverts and attics can live as long as 6 months.
Do mosquito sprays affect animals other than mosquitoes?
No! The extremely small droplet aerosols utilized in adult mosquito control are designed to impact primarily on adult mosquitoes that are on the wing at the time of the application. Degradation of these small droplets is rapid, leaving little or no residue in the target area at ground level. These special considerations are major factors that favor the use of very low application rates for these products, generally less than 4 grams active ingredient per acre, and are instrumental in minimizing adverse impacts.

Special Event Spraying
Allow Skeeter Shield to protect your event from party crashing mosquitoes. Invest in the quality of your event to ensure everyone that attends is enjoying a mosquito free environment. Our special event mosquito barrier spray will be the best decision you make for your very important event. Spraying 24 – 48 hours before your big event will provide maximum effectiveness in keeping annoying mosquitoes out. Do not allow mosquitoes to ruin that extremely important day.
Mosquito Misting Systems
Misting systems are installed in many different configurations to ensure a custom designed system that guarantees insect and mosquito control where you need it. Skeeter Shield Misting Systems are installed around swimming pools, fences, patios, covered porches, perimeters of homes, gardens, dog kennels, horse barns, and more. Commercial application includes wineries, restaurants, parks, day cares, playgrounds, horse barns and more. Our system kills mosquitoes, flies, gnats, no-see-ums, ticks and many more insects.
Livestock & Horse Barn
Livestock bothered by mosquitoes spend more time scratching and less time on the field. Adult female mosquitoes cause annoyance to livestock by sucking blood. Animals are not able to graze properly, often resulting in reduced weight and decreased milk production. During mosquito outbreaks, animals will gradually bunch up to avoid attack. If the attack persists, they could have a stampede, causing injury to themselves and damaging fences.
